Emotional Freedom Technique

The Emotional Freedom Technique is commonly referred to as EFT or Tapping. 

This technique involves tapping on specific acupuncture points while focusing on distressing emotions and memories. 

By bringing to mind the distress, we activate the part of the brain holding onto that energy. As we tap on the acupuncture points, we send calming signals to the mind and body. This process allows the energy to move and the distress to be released. 

This technique is designed to acknowledge and release distress through a gentle process that respects what feels safe to us and is not retraumatizing.  

EFT can be a self-help resource, but it is recommended to work with a certified practitioner to provide extra support and safety when working with distress related to traumatic events.
