My 1,120 Day Healing Journey
Before the Journey,
I was introduced to EFT Tapping after surviving a violent and life-threatening incident, which resulted in debilitating PTSD.
A couple of months after that event, I began working with a certified EFT Tapping practitioner every week to reduce the intensity of the PTSD.
Two years later,
I lost all of my vision in one eye in just 48 hours.
During this experience, my cornea melted so quickly that I needed to be emergently evacuated back to my home country, where I would be eligible to receive a cornea transplant.
Day 0
My eye was healthy.
Day 2
I lost all my vision.
Day 6
I had my 1st surgery to save my eye.
Day 8
a doctor scheduled a surgery to remove my eye.
6 weeks later,
I was able to get a second opinion and received my first cornea transplant instead.
Day 48
I received my first cornea transplant.
During the first transplant, I felt:
Fearful
Anxious
Panicked
Helpless
Overwhelmed
Vulnerable
Day 350
My eye was stable.
After one year,
my eye had stabilized, and I had a glimpse of the end of the crisis.
2 months later,
my transplant failed, and I lost all my vision, again.
Day 402
My transplant failed.
Day 704
I was found ineligible to receive a second cornea transplant.
Day 779
A procedure was attempted to restore my vision and it failed.
For a year and a half,
I lived without vision while receiving treatment so that I could be eligible for a second transplant.
9 of those months,
I received a treatment that left me confined to the couch and barely able to tolerate food for more than half of every week.
The shift
I had been feeling devastated and hopeless that I would ever be able to restore my vision or feel healthy again.
Then everything changed when my partner was advised to explore Tarot for his own personal journey. The moment we started looking for his first deck, I felt an immediate pull to get one of my own. I didn’t know anything about the cards or how to use them, but they quickly became part of my daily routine.
Gradually, my hopelessness shifted into a sense of stability and resilience that was independent of whether or not I could see.
One week later, I began preparing for my second transplant.
with Tapping
In the time leading up to my second transplant, I continued to work with a certified practitioner on a weekly basis.
We addressed earlier life traumas, the loss of my vision, and the rejection of my first transplant.
I also used Tapping independently to process the emotions I felt when looking at each of the photos of my eye.
Now, I can look at all of those same photos without feeling any intense emotional reaction.
with Tarot
I started working with my first Tarot deck one month after a procedure to restore my vision failed.
Just seven days after pulling my first card, I was approved for a second cornea transplant
Two months later, I experienced a successful transplant.
Throughout this period, I used Tarot daily to gain insight into the process and identify the actions I could take to put myself in the best position to experience a positive outcome.
Day 880
I received my second cornea transplant.
During the second transplant, I felt:
Serene
Confident
Optimistic
Courageous
Grounded
Trusting
Day 1,120
I was given a new glasses prescription and was able to read 20/15 with my eye that has undergone 2 transplants and 20/10 with both eyes working together.
